Sinus
Headaches
One of the most common and unpleasant symptoms of sinusitis is a sinus headache.
When the sinuses are infected and inflamed, the resulting swelling and mucus production block the sinus openings and increase pressure in the head. The resulting headache can cause radiating pain in the eyes, cheeks, forehead, and nose. Sinus headaches only worsen with motion, which makes it difficult to perform daily tasks.
Some people who think they are suffering from a sinus headache might actually have a migraine or tension headache. Our providers will work closely with you to properly diagnose the cause of your headache symptoms and to formulate an individualized treatment plan.
If your headache symptoms are in fact sinus-related, our specialists will make medical and/or surgical recommendations in order to bring you relief. A non-invasive balloon sinuplasty is often the best procedure for nearly immediate and lasting relief from sinus headaches.
Balloon Sinuplasty is a cutting-edge procedure that is routinely performed right in our office. This awake procedure requires no incisions and simply involves the inflation of a small balloon in your sinuses to open them for proper drainage. When your sinuses are open, the pressure causing your sinus headaches will disappear.
