Bring the following items to your appointment:
Knowing what to expect during your visit at Midwest Sinus Sleep & Allergy Associates will allow you to remain relaxed and confident. Our courteous and friendly receptionists will greet you at the front desk and help with the registration process. After this, you will meet our medical assistants who will take a detailed history, review your health records and medications, as well as insert any lab tests or x-rays into your electronic chart.
You will then meet one of our specialists, who will discuss your concerns, confirm your medical history, and review previous records with you. A thorough head and neck exam will be performed, and, when indicated, may include a specialized nose and throat exam called an endoscopy. During this minor procedure, a small endoscope is used to evaluate the internal structures of the nose and throat. This is done to get a detailed examination and visualize structures that your primary care provider may not be able to see. Upon completion of your exam, you may require a hearing evaluation in our specialized sound booth with our hearing and balance team. This test will be ordered based on your complaints and findings on your examination. After your evaluation is complete, one of our specialists will discuss your suspected diagnosis or clinical problem and all your questions will be answered.
Finally, our staff will assist you with obtaining any prescriptions and scheduling any tests, surgeries, and additional appointments. If further questions arise after leaving the office, never hesitate to call back and get them answered. Correspondence will be sent to your primary care provider in a timely manner, detailing and summarizing your visit.
Our office participates with most insurance plans. Please remember that insurance is considered a method of reimbursement and is not a substitute for payment. Some insurance companies pay fixed allowances for certain procedures, and others pay a percentage of the charge. It is your responsibility to pay any deductible amount, co-insurance, or any other balance that is not paid by the insurance. In order to control our cost of billing, we request that you pay your portion of the bill at the time of each visit. We accept cash, check, Visa, Discover, MasterCard, and CareCredit.
